Medical Approach About STRESS and ULCERS. Kick out some misconception and Learn This

The fact remains that stress doesn't cause ulcers. Peptic and duodenal ulcers are caused by a bacteria called H. pylori. It's like saying mosquitoes cause Malaria when in real sense it's caused by Plasmodium spp. Stress is just like a catalyst (doesn't part in reaction but speeds up rate of reaction).

Other than H.pylor, Peptic and duodenal ulcers are caused by prolonged use of Non-steroidal Inflammatory

This is the scientific approach basing on body physiology.

When you are exposed to a psycological trigger that is a danger or a shocking thing, your body responds by the hypothalamus part of brain releasing hormones that act on adrenal gland on kidney to produce stress managing hormones.

The adrenal medulla secretes adrenaline hormones: epinephrine and norepinephrine thus intiating "fight and flight responses" This is like body alarm, it will stay on unless the situation is solved.

The adrenal cortex secretes hydrocortisone or cortisol hormone. This is a primary stress hormones that also affects blood pressure, blood sugar among other physiological function.

One particular function that's impaired to stomach is reduced gut motility. There is reduced blood supply to the stomach and intestines. This even slows digestion and results to loss of appetite. Staying on empty stomach allows the susceptibility of stomach tunica mucosal layer to action of hydrochloric acid. This will corrode the wall and still result to symptoms of ulcers.

The prolonged pyscological stress is even worse to the suspected, those healing, or those on ulcer monitoring program.

Help those ulcer patient kindly
